Steve was tired and she didn't need to be in his head to see it either. He eyed her again, considering as he weighed their options. He didn't like it. She didn't need to see what worse things people were capable of doing.

Steve's shoulders dropped slightly. It was hard to be captain of the Avengers. He couldn't fill the gap left by Pietro but he did his best to support her when she needed it, to vouch for her.

"I need to be there when you do it," he told her, raising a hand to stop any protests. Steve knew she could protect herself but she needed back-up. They couldn't let him run and he was physically stronger than her. It only took a moment to lose the upper hand. "And maybe Natasha."
